Please join us for a special talk from Food For Thought, Inc's Timothy Fitzgerald Young.

As an organic Farmer and food processor of over 20 years, Timothy has been watching the emergence of genetically modified foods and monitored consumer reaction to their proliferation. He’ll present a short history of where they came from as well as a look to the future. He’ll also offer updates on the current state of regulation and the status of Congressional efforts to strike a balance between industry lobbying and consumer demand. 

 

 

 

Timothy Fitzgerald Young is founder, President and Chef of Food For Thought, Inc., creators of organic and wild-harvested gourmet specialty foods. An extensive background in travel and human relief work in the developing world inspired Timothy’s creation of Food For Thought in 1995 with the mission of creating and raising awareness around just and sustainable food systems and to serve as a model to counter the global industrial food system. Timothy was a founding board member of the Domestic Fair Trade Association and most recently the non-profit On The Ground that organizes ultra-marathons around the world to raise awareness and development dollars for marginalize farming communities. They’ve hosted Run Across Ethiopia, Run Across Palestine and most recently the Run Across Congo, which raise money and awareness around sexual violence in the coffee growing regions of Eastern Congo.
