Midnight Sun Farm is welcoming The Sugar Beet Food Co-op and friends to spend a day exploring their farm. A little less than 2 hours from Chicago this family farm grows more than 40 kinds of vegetables using sustainable farming practices. They also raise pastured chickens, turkeys, and pigs.
Bring a sack lunch or choose the option to purchase a boxed lunch from The Sugar Beet Food Co-op when you purchase your ticket.
Saturday, October 17
Tentative Schedule
10:30 am Arrive at Midnight Sun Farm
10:45 am Walking tour of the farm
11:30 am Picnic lunch and free time (take a walk around the pond or wander through the oak trees that surround the picnic area) Guests can bring their own brown bag lunch and beverages or purchase a boxed lunch from The Sugar Beet Food Co-op.
12:30 pm Work project - Help Nick and Becky, the owners of Midnight Sun Farm, prepare their corn field for winter. We will be cutting, stacking, and binding the corn shocks.
2:00 pm Purchase produce (in addition to pumpkins, they will have greens and root vegetables. They may also have pork and Thanksgiving turkeys) to take home
3:00 pm Departure
A finalized schedule will be posted at least two weeks prior to the event.
Closer to the date of the tour information regarding purchasing a boxed lunch from the Sugar Beet Co-op will be sent via email to everyone who purchases tickets for the Midnight Sun Farm Tour.
