This month's theme is cooperation. More specifically, food cooperatives. And we couldn't have found a better team of panelists to answer your most pressing questions. Like, um, what is a food co-op anyway?
As always, everyone is welcome and it's highly recommended that you bring your own adult beverage. Snacking & sharing are encouraged, too :)
Kevin Monahan -- He's been a Dill Pickle owner since 2007 and was appointed to the board of directors in 2008. With a graduate degree in computer science and a resume spanning Arthur Andersen to Old Town School of Folk Music, Kevin has a unique perspective on the development & management of food co-ops.
Cheryl Muñoz -- She's the founder and project leader at Oak Park's Sugar Beet Co-op. The vision of The Sugar Beet Co-op is to nurture a diverse community through the practice of cooperative economics and educational programming. Their goal is to honor a more sustainable relationship between the foods we eat and the world we live in.
Malcolm Haar -- He wanted to shop at a place where his ideas could go further than a comment card box so he joined Chicago Market's steering committee. Chicago Market will be a community hub where shoppers can enjoy a juice and coffee bar while attending workshops, classes, meetings and performances. They're still signing up founding members!
